We are seeking an editorial Designer for our print magazine.


What you’ll do:

  • Work on all sections of the magazine, focusing on small front-of-book and back-of-book stories (table of contents, news pages, reviews, etc) and occasionally working on feature stories and packages of 6-plus pages in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work fast and clean, simultaneously juggling multiple assignments effectively in an organized manner, while producing innovative ideas and designs with minimal supervision.
  • Work with the editors and the photo team on individual stories, following the project through the shipping cycle in collaboration with the production team.


Your experience and skills:

  • 1-3 years of print graphic design experience, preferably at a design studio, advertising agency or, ideally a publication
  • Expert in InDesign
  • Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Examples of collages, infographics/charts, and/or maps
  • Examples of interpreting stories or concepts visually (via illustration, photography, etc.)
  • Interest in print magazines generally and familiarity with The Hollywood Reporter specifically
  • Understanding of hierarchy and typography
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to understand and follow deadlines
