Job Opportunity

Reporting to Head of Valence FP&A, the Director of FP&A for MRC Media is an integral part of the Finance team. Valence is a highly cross-functional organization, and this role works with colleagues across all functional areas and divisions, learning the television business inside-and-out. This is an opportunity to assist in creating the foundation for the integrated FP&A function for the Media division.  The primary responsibilities include building and maintaining Media financial forecast models and assisting in the preparation of senior leadership review materials, including the annual operating plan and budget. A successful candidate has strong analytical skills, prioritizes and manages multiple tasks at once, has a strong desire to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for the Media division
  • Maintain and update quarterly GAAP and cash operating forecast models
  • Manage headcount financial planning to support annual budget, forecasts, and cash flow models
  • Assist with the quarter-end close to ensure revenue and expenses are recorded accurately
  • Monitor the capital needs of the business including headcount, departmental and overhead budgeting and tracking
  • Support the strategic planning process for Media division
  • Perform various other financial analyses and industry related research, tracking and compiling industry trends and competitive analyses, to inform senior management strategic decision-making
  • Provide strategic financial support to department heads on individual cost center budgets
  • Provide information for forecast/annual budget variances
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly business reviews and variance analyses

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in media, corporate finance, or other highly analytical roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from a leading university, with a strong GPA
  • Advanced Excel, financial and operational modeling and presentation skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and a passion for the media industry
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage evolving deadlines
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
